Stearic acid (ST)

Powder or crystalline hard block

This product is a white or off-white powder or crystalline hard block with a greasy feel. Its cross section has fine needle-shaped crystals with a slight luster; it has a slight odor similar to oil and is tasteless. This product is easily soluble in chloroform or ether, soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in water.

Condensation point The condensation point of this product (Appendix VI D) is not less than 54°C. Iodine value The iodine value of this product (Appendix VII H) is not more than 4. Acid value The acid value of this product (Appendix VII H) is 203 ~210. Stearic acid easily reacts with magnesium ions and calcium ions to form magnesium stearate and calcium stearate (white precipitate).

Application recommendation： It is widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics, plastic cold-resistant plasticizers, release agents, stabilizers, surfactants, rubber vulcanization accelerators, waterproofing agents, polishing agents, metal soaps, metal mineral flotation agents, softeners, pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals.

Storage and packaging： This product can be packed in cardboard boxes or woven bags lined with plastic bags. Net weight of each box (bag) is 25kg or 50kg.

Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place, away from fire and oxidants. Store and transport in accordance with general chemical regulations
